In Lucy McDiarmid’s account of the famous dinner at which Ezra Pound, William Butler Yeats, and other modernist luminaries assembled to celebrate the eminent Edwardian Wilfried Scawen Blunt, she identifies the changing poetic styles of the day, as well as the poets’ consciousness of these shifts. If that’s not enough to encourage you to read the book, the story of a roasted peacock as main course should be.
